Donna B. Fargason, MD received her medical doctorate at LSU Medical School in New Orleans. She then completed her Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry residencies there as well. She subsequently served as faculty in the Department of Child Psychiatry at LSU while pursuing training in the Harris Infant Fellowship at LSU and the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Fellowship at the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute. Dr. Fargason continues to hold a faculty appointment at LSU-NO as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry serving as a supervisor for child psychiatry residents in training. Dr. Fargason has lived in Baton Rouge since 2002 and has pursued setting up a private practice while working with several agencies including the Office of Community Service, LA School for the Deaf, Jetson Juvenile Justice Facility, LA Department of Health and Hospitals, and LSU Medical School Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Fargason is licensed as a physician in the state of Louisiana (#023078) and is board certified in Psychiatry (#54300).
Dr. Fargason’s focus is now primarily her private practice which is almost solely housed in her clinic, Family Focus, LLC. Her vision about focusing on the entire family during the treatment experience served as the impetus for the business venture. Dr. Fargason associates with several other clinicians in order to provide a multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of her patients. She has extensive experience in performing psychiatric evaluations and attending to medication issues with children, adolescents, and adults. |
