Jennifer Reck-Gordy, Ph.D., joined Family Focus in July 2011 as a post-doctoral fellow. Her current practice focuses on providing psychological assessment and counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults from cognitive-behavioral and interpersonal process theoretical perspectives. Professional interests include posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the effects of trauma on individuals and their families, pain management and behavioral medicine, and women’s issues, as well as psychological and diagnostic testing. She is a member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies and has presented her research at several annual conferences. Ron Boudreaux, Ph.D., supervises Dr. Reck-Gordy’s post-doctoral clinical work.    

Dr. Reck-Gordy received her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Texas in 2011. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Psychology from Texas A&M University. She completed an APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout her graduate training, Dr. Reck-Gordy provided assessment and therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults in a multitude of settings, including Dallas/Fort Worth-area private practices, Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, the Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center, and the University of North Texas Psychology Clinic.

In her spare time, Dr. Reck-Gordy enjoys chasing after her son, traveling with her husband, studying anthropology, and watching a good movie.
