Donna attended LSU Medical School in New Orleans and then did residencies in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry there as well. She stayed at LSU as faculty in the Department of Child Psychiatry while pursuing training in the Harris Infant Fellowship with Joy Osofsky, PhD. During that time she also pursued additional therapy experience at the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute.
Donna moved to Baton Rouge in 2002 and has done contract work in several venues while establishing her private practice in the community. She currently owns and operates Family Focus, LLC in association with other incredibly talented and respected mental health providers. She also serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry of the Department of Psychiatry, LSU New Orleans and as Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry residency program at Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rouge.
Her practice consists of performing psychiatric evaluations and attending to medication issues with children, adolescents, and adults. Her vision about focusing on the entire family during the treatment experience served as the impetus for the business venture. She has recently expanded her practice to include Equine Facilitated Learning which involves doing groundwork with horses. This therapy modality has been an exciting new venture and has shown to be quite an interesting and fruitful endeavor. Sometimes the juggling of career and family can be difficult, but it is also very rewarding. Pursuing personal balance and spiritual awareness has helped to shape Donna as a person, mother, and professional.
